The Point System
This first exercise should be done sitting or lying down. Start by tightening every muscle in your body, hold it for a few seconds and then let your muscles relax. Make sure that you do this relaxation on both sides of your body. Right side then the Left side. Balance is important.
Next think of a spot on the top of your foot. Think about this spot and then let go or relax it. Continue this process on your other foot.
Then continue up your leg to the calf, behind the knee, thigh, right but cheek, left but cheek, on both sides of your spin at the bottom, middle and top of your back, shoulder muscles on both sides, upper arm, elbow, lower arm, wrist, center of your hands, then pelvic area, below belly button, stomach, chest, back of the neck, center of the back of your head, top of your head, eyebrows, check muscles, jaw, eyes and any other muscle group you can think of or areas that hurt
The object is to target specific muscles and relax them and keeping them relaxed until the whole body is no longer stressed.
a. Once you have completed the above, you can relax even more with a simple thought to relax all the points, going deeper sinking into the chair or floating on a bed of water or air. (you choose.)
b. Next, imagine that there is blue or green light surrounding your body, relaxing or healing. Blue is a relaxing color, green is a healing color, yellow is happy and full of energy. White is pure, cleansing, and full of energy.
