This
relaxation method is a visualization where you place in your
mind in an environment where there are no problems and everything is happy
or peaceful. You can go anywhere. The beach, a warm room in front of a
fireplace, a garden, or a special room made up of your favorite things.
You can see colors, smell scents, hear sounds, and feel things. |
|
|
It
helps to be in a dark or dimly lit room and to have relaxing smells around
you. Some relaxing scents are Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and Orange blossom.
Smells that will relax and help you to sleep include Marjoram and Nutmeg
oil on the temples |

Example |
|
|
You
see a door before you. Reach forward and open the door. There is a long
corridor. Go down it. At the other end there is another door. Reach
forward and go through. You steep into a large field. It is a beautiful
day and there is a wall of roses before you. You can smell there sweet
scent. Walking down along the wall you come to an arbor of rose leading
into a beautiful garden. Before you there is a large pond with a small
waterfall at the other side. On either side of the pond are two weeping
willow trees. The pond is full of swan, otters, geese, and fish peacefully
existing together. You enter the garden, the sun warming you as you breath
in the smell of lavender and marjoram that fills the air. The blues, reds,
yellows and pinks of the flowers are everywhere you turn and you can see a
butterfly landing on one of the flowers. You walk through the garden until
you come to a soft patch of walking time. You sit down on it, smelling the
thyme as you brush against it. A warm breeze brushes against you skin as
you lay back to feel the sun on your face. You are peaceful and relaxed.
Once you are fully relaxed, get up and leave the garden, find the door in
the field, reach forward and go through. You are once again in the
corridor, go down it to the other door. As you steep through the other
door, you are still relaxed and peaceful. Reach forward and steep through
the door. |

|
This
is just an example of how one walk through might go. To return there are
two options. You can return through the doors and the corridor or you can
simply stop imagining. Which ever your most comfortable for you. It is
always a good idea to start with the doors or a staircase leading you to
your chosen destination. It provides a trigger that gets you ready in the
future to relax. It also separates conflict and turmoil from the place you
are heading towards in your mind. |
