Bridget Bread
2 Tbs Yeast
1/2 Cup Warm Water
a Pinch of sugar
1 Cup Milk
1 Egg
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1/2 Cup Tomato Sauce
4 Cups Wheat Flour
1 Cup White Flour
1 Tbs Flax Seed (ground up)
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1 Clove Garlic
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp Basil
Topping:
1 Egg Yolk, whipped
Poppy seeds
 
1. Combine yeast, water, and sugar. 
2. Add milk, eggs, oil and tomato sauce.  
3. In a separate bowl combine wheat and white flour, flax seed, sugar, salt, garlic, oregano and basil.  
4. Combine wet and dry mixtures.  
5. Grease a bowl and set the dough in it.  Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour. 
6. Punch down and divide in half.  Divide the halves into three parts.  
7. Braid together the three parts and set both loaves to rise on a greased cookie sheet.
8. Let rise 1 hour.
9. Brush the top of the bread with egg yoke and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
10. Bake at 375 for 30 min. 
  Note:  place a pan with a little water in the oven while it bakes.
