Savory Pie
 
1 lbs Ground Beef
1 Cup Water
1 Cup Red Wine
1 Eggs, Beaten
1/4 Cup Breadcrumbs
1 Onion
Mushrooms
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Ginger
1/4 tsp Allspice
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
1/8 tsp Clove
1/8 tsp Sage
1/8 tsp Cinnamon
1/8 tsp Rosemary (powdered)
2 oz Almonds
 
1. Combine water and wine.
2. Brown Beef, onions, and mushrooms and add a small amount of  wine mixture.  
3. Continue adding Wine mixture to keep it from drying out until the meat is cooked.  
4. Remove from Stove.
5. Add egg, spices, breadcrumbs and almonds.  
6. Place in a 9 inch pie crust and cover with the second crust.  Vent crust.
7. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until done.  
   
Alternative:  You will need another egg, beaten.
6a.   Divide pie crust dough  into 4 pieces.  Roll out each piece.
7a. Place in center of the dough the Beef mixture.  
8a. Brush the edges with water and fold the dough  together and seal the edges.  You can use a fork to press down the edges to make sure it's sealed.  
9a. Brush the top of the pastry with egg and pierce the top so that the pastry will not explode.
10a.  Bake at 350 for 1/2 hour or until crust is done. 
  Can be frozen and heated later.
